Narcissistic people thrive on their illusion of self worth. When they look in a mirror, they only see what they want to. Of course, they see themselves as perfect. They have an inflated ego, and they lack care for anything but themselves.

People with narcissistic personality disorder need attention. However, when a narcissist is ignored, they go into a fit! They also fear rejection - a lot. When you reject them, you are rejecting the person they want to be. In fact, abandonment is one of the things narcissists fear most.

Narcissistic people typically get worse with age. That’s because with age comes many negative things that they simply cannot handle. Thus, the older they get, the crankier they become. While there are numerous things that terrify narcissists to their core, what it all comes down to is their constant need to be in control of everything.

I pity them. They usually don't accept advice. They fail woefully.
