A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded a 19-year-old boy identified as Samuel Sunday, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old teenage girl in Rivers State.

In a count charge read out in court, Samuel was alleged to have on the 14th of February, 202, had unlawful carnal knowledge of one Blessing Uduak and thereby committed an offence punishable under criminal code of Rivers State law 1999.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.


The victim had informed the court that she is already four months pregnant for the accused who was arraigned by Human Right desk of Rivers State Police headquarters.

Chief Magistrate, Gomba Osaro, after listening to the parties in the matter adjourned till 16th of August, 2021 for bail consideration.
