Your CV (or Resume)is your opportunity to leave a lasting first impression in the minds of a prospective employer. It gives recruiters a first look at you. How your CV feels will determine whether they give you a second chance or interview.

Asking which type of resume / CV is likely to impress a prospective employer? The best answer is a CV that is simple, straightforward, relevant to the job and well organized. How does your CV meet the requirements?

For a start, the following are the basic dos and don'ts of an impressive CV.

The Dos
1. It must be organized and compartmentalized. The job experience section must be distinct from the educational background section.
2. Include only necessary details. It is not an essay competition but a cogent functional message. So please weigh each detail to know if it should be included or not.
3. Your CV must be simple and straightforward
4. Be honest in your CV.
5. Tailor it to suit the job position
6. Garnish it with a winning cover letter. To learn more about cover letters, hang around.
7. Check and recheck for errors. Errors can be a first turn-off to a headhunter. Avoid errors.

The Don'ts
1. Do not include too much details and irrelevant junk details in your CV.
2. Don't use the same CV for all job applications and positions.
3. Don't forget to check for grammatical errors
4. Don't lie in your CV. Be honest but still be amazing.
5. D not make it too long. Maximum of 2 pages is enough.
6. Do not forget to include a cover letter
7. Don't hand-write or type your CV. Print with modern printer. Makes it tidy.
8. Do not add negative information in your CV.

With these the prospective employer is most likely to call you back.
