Alexi Iwobi gives praises to Unai Emery after his superb form this season.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has hailed new Arsenal manager Unai Emery for his recent superb rich vein of form this season in the Premier League.
The Super Eagles' forward had a hand in both of Arsenal's goals in their 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday, September 29, a win that sent the Gunners to fifth position on the League standings.
Alex Iwobi was introduced by Unai Emery against Watford in the 63rd minute replacing Aaron Ramsey, and his superb run in the wing forced Craig Cathcart to score an own goal.He then played Alexandre Lacazette through to set up Mesut Ozil with a fine pass across goal and a tidy finish to secure all three points for the Gunners.“I’m more positive and more confident with the ball. The boss has basically told me that if something doesn’t work, just keep going and don’t dwell on it.“He’s told me to stop being so critical and to just keep trying no matter what happens, no matter if things don’t go as I want them to.
“That’s given me a lot more confidence to try a few more things, like beat a player, to shoot more. I’m always ready to get on the ball a bit more, so I guess it’s helped in that sense.
“I’ve lost a bit of weight because of the intense training and I think it’s made me a bit sharper,'' Iwobi said according to Daily Star UK.
