In this technology age, life is moving so fast. A decade ago we could not boast of hailing a ride via a Uber app or talk back at a small home speaker instructing it to reduce its own volume.
But as new technological innovations take place to make living easier and reform the financial and entertainment industries among others, we see inventions that never existed.
Below are 9 major inventions that were not in existence a decade ago.
1. Tesla's first electric car, the Roadster was revealed in 2008.
It was named the second best invention of 2008 by TIME magazine. It now costs if you $200,000.
2. DNA test being sold detail since 2008.
Consumer DNA testing company 23andMe was awarded the best invention in 2008 by TIME. Currently has over 5 million customers.
3. Crowdsourced fundraising websites were launched in the last decade:
Indiegogo, GoFundMe, Kickstarter, and others.
4. Ride-hailing services m came to the fore with the invention of Uber in 2009.
Others like Lyft and Via joined the train both in 2012.

Steve Jobs revealed the iPad in 2010 making it one of the new inventions in the last decade.
6. Instagram
Launched in 2010, the Instagram had 25000 people sign up the first day and within a year became the iPhone app of the year.
In 2012 Facebook bought it for $1 billion. Today it's one of the largest social networks.
7. Snapchat
No one knew Snapchat not until 2011.
It had a different nomenclature before then, specifically picaboo.
But today it's one of the most popular social media apps.
8. Apple watches in 2014
Though smart watches existed before then, the launch of Apple watches in 2014 marked a revolution in the smart watches industry. Today, Apple watches lead as best smart watches invention.
9. Interactive smart speakers
Amazon Echo and Google Home are smart speakers that not only can they listen to you to adjust their volumes, they can now do much more including switching home lights on or off, etc.
Both came into existence in the last decade.
