Manchester United pair Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba had a heated argument following the 3-2 victory over Southampton on Saturday, reports claim.
The alleged bust-up came after Pogba denied Lukaku the opportunity to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot in injury time.
Pogba missed from the spot
Pogba, the designated penalty taker, saw his kick saved and Lukaku’s frustrations reportedly boiled over after the game.
According to The Sun , the pair had to be separated by interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Lukaku and Pogba are close friends, which is why the Belgian striker expected to be handed the ball.
He reportedly told his French counterpart that he would’ve let him take it if he was in the same position.
Pogba insisted he had every right to take the penalty, but Lukaku pointed to various examples of players relinquishing the responsibility for their team-mates.
Mohamed Salah allowed Roberto Firmino to complete his hat-trick when Liverpool were awarded a second penalty during the 5-1 demolition of Arsenal back in December.
A United source told the newspaper: “It was quite a stern conversation and Romelu was clearly not happy about what Pogba had done.
“He was quick to remind Paul how much he had helped him when he fell out with Jose Mourinho.
“It needed Ole to calm the situation.”

The Sun also claims Solskjaer told the pair to put the issue behind them, with two huge games coming up this week – against PSG in the Champions League and Arsenal in the Premier League.
The dramatic victory over Saints at Old Trafford saw United climb into the top four, and Solskjaer reminded the pair of the many positives to take from the game.
