According to the eNaira website enaira.com, the following are benefits of enaira. But you will agree they are neither unique nor desirable:

.

Welcome
Organizations and individuals are seeking fast, safe, easy, and cheap means of payment, eNaira was minted to meet these pressing needs.

eNaira is a Central Bank of Nigeria-issued digital currency that provides a unique form of money denominated in Naira. eNaira serves as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, offering better payment prospects in retail transactions when compared to cash payments. eNaira has an exclusive operational structure that is both remarkable and nothing like other forms of central bank money.

There are several benefits from a central bank-issued digital currency in Nigeria, and this cuts across different sectors of, and concerns of the economy.

eNaira serves as both a medium of exchange and a store of value, offering better payment prospects in retail transactions when compared to cash payments.

Growth
eNaira fosters Economic Growth by offering easier access to capital and financial services thereby increasing economic activities at low/no interest transaction rate.

Remittance
eNaira provides a secure and cheaper diaspora Remittance option and an increase in the speed of such transactions.

Monitoring
eNaira's traceability limits its use for illicit or fraudulent purposes.

Welfare
eNaira enables effective, equitable, and faster distribution of cash assistance to households and communities included in government Social Welfare Programs.

Security

Revenue
eNaira aids Revenue collection by reducing cash handling costs.

Same Naira. - More Possibilities.

It does not yield any interest.

I don't think it can do what real cryptos do. How are we so sure of the security? Moreover, it's just another burden.

See, the way I look at things these days is from the angle of cost benefit analysis. What's up with the e-Naira idea?
Enaira
Enaira
To me, it doesn't make any sense. It's just another distraction in a country that banned Twitter, Cryptocurrencies etc.

Now, a country that is wallowing in so much foreign debts, underdevelopment, insecurity, unemployment, dwindling foreign earning, self deceit as giant of Africa is now trying to create her own Crypto currency and her own Twitter (Crowe or whatever).

See, we have more important issues to resolve first. To me, the enaira is jut another waste of attention and resources. It looks like another scam to me.

How would the enaira thing help our country? How would it help the Naira? 1 Naira = 1 enaira. Doesn't make sense.

What value is the enaira going to add to us? What problems is it coming to solve? NONE!
It's no value. There's nothing we can't do already that enaira is coming to do.

My advice is that CBN and Emefiele should stop wasting our time and money on moribund ideas.

It's like a child trying to fly when he has not even taken the first step after crawling since 1960!

Let's get out of this crawling stage first. Let's even walk first. Then walk, run, jump before thinking of flying.

Resolve insecurity, rising debt, massive unemployment, dying health and education sectors, fuel scarcity, inflation and more first!!!!

If I'm to rate this country's administration with the basic 9 o-level courses that are elementary, I'd score Nigeria F9 in all Economics, Mathematics and History, among others.

Just my thoughts!
