When you setup your blog and start posting contents on it, one of the great ways that you can use to drive traffic is through social media. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest etc. are awesome platforms where you can start sharing your contents and get lots of traffic to your website. Today I will be focusing on Facebook. When i first started out, Facebook was the first place i started posting my contents though at first I did not get any traffic but I heard to learn ways on getting traffic from Facebook and that’s what I will be sharing with you today.
A Little about Facebook
Facebook is a social networking website that was founded in 2004 and according to Alexa ranking it is ranked as the 3rd largest website having almost 2.2 billion monthly active users and still counting as thousands of people keep signing up on a daily basis. “Well to me i like calling Facebook a country of its own”.
To The Good Stuff
The truth is you cannot get as much traffic as you would on Facebook when you use free traffic method compared to when you run a paid ads but you can get a decent amount of free traffic to kick start your blog. One of the cool things i like about Facebook is that no matter the niche you into, you are likely to meet thousands if not millions of people searching for that nice.
Note: While using this method i am about to show you, i am not guaranting you of thousands in a single day but with patience and consistency, you will get the required traffic you need.
Using this method to grow one of my Facebook pages i was able to gets more than 3 thousand page like and still counting without paying a dime.
Here Are My Methods for Free Traffic on Facebook
Have A Website
The first thing you will need is a website so you can direct the traffic from Facebook to. For newbie’s there are several ways to build a website, if you don’t have the cash to pay for a web developer they are alternatives such as blogger.com, wix.com and my favourite wordpress.com. With this you have a place where people who sees your content on facebook can be directed to for more information.
Write Quality Content
No matter how awesome your website looks if your contents don’t add value to people nobody will come visit your website. Most people that you see on social media are mostly there to find interesting things so if they don’t find that on your page they will leave. You can either write it yourself or hire someone to do it for you.
Open A Facebook Fan Page
Having a fan page that can be created on your personal Facebook account is a way to stand out and make people know you serious about what you doing. Facebook allows you to open as many fan pages as you like and gives you total control over them.
While opening a fan page, the name of the page must be the same with your domain name. You have to add a fancy cover page and logo so as to make your page attractive (you can get a graphic designer to do a logo for you or head over to canva.com and do it yourself).
When your facebook page is setup, the next thing is to copy the permanent links from your contents and paste it on your page. Once this is done, the image and title of your blog post will appear on your page making it easy so when someone visits your page and click on the link, they are directed to your website thereby increasing your traffic.
Posting To Groups
Once you have your links posted to your fan page, the next thing to do is go to the search bar of your facebook account and search for groups related to your niche. When you find groups relevant to your niche, join those groups. Most groups are public which allows you automatic access while some are closed which requires the approval of an admin to grant your post access into the group.
Once you have joined those groups, go back to your fan page and on your post click on the share button and select the group you want to share your post on you can share to as many as possible. With these, when someone in this group see your post and engage with your post a “like page” icon will appear at the top which will make it easy for people to like your page.
Note: Like i said earlier it’s not automatic but the more post you share the more likely people will like your page and your traffic will increase.
I have used this method to get more than 3,000 fan page likes on one of my Facebook pages.
