I know, the name of this Kenyan company Mobius Motors does not sound familiar at all, but we’ll tell you that the company was founded in 2009 by a computer engineer whose main goal was to facilitate transport in Africa, and more specifically in rural areas with little or no infrastructure.

The ‘low cost’ SUV, Mobius II , which is essentially designed specifically to facilitate mobility in rural Africa has a robust structure based on a ladder chassis, on which a steel body is installed.

Speaking of its propulsion – only models of rear traction are offered, at least for the moment – a 1.8 liter gasoline engine with a modest power of 131 HP is ordered, coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Speaking of the interior, Mobius II comes with only two seats. Depending on the range, it can be equipped with an infotainment system with 8-inch screen and air conditional.

The model is already on sale by order, the first units will not reach the market until the beginning of 2018. It costs about 1.3 million Kenyan shillings, that’s about 4.5 million Nigerian naira or 10,600 euros.
