According to La Repubblica and Il Tempo, a fresh potential transfer scandal has been brought to the attention of Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné.
According to reports, COVISOC, the Serie A clubs’ Supervisory Commission, sent a detailed report to the Prosecutor and FIGC President Gabriele Gravina, requesting that they investigate the situation.
According to the Supervisor, several businesses may have had a substantial impact on the accounts of various top-flight clubs.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen transfer deal was also cited , since four players moved to LOSC Lille for a total of €20 million, with two of them now playing in Serie D, one in Serie C, and the fourth remaining in France without playing.
Juventus has been hit the worst, with 42 moves on the list and 21 players traded for a total of €90 million, although only little over €3 million really changed hands.
The case has now been transferred to the FIGC Prosecutor’s Office, which has yet to initiate any actions. However, Federal Prosecutor Chiné is reviewing the records, and a case could be filed in the future.
Last year, a similar scandal rocked Italy’s Serie B, leading to point deductions for Cesena and Chievo Verona, two clubs that later went bankrupt.
