Deal: Chelsea Owner Abramovich Makes Final Decision on £75million Transfer of World-Class Player
Chelsea Football Club were one of the biggest spenders in Europe last summer as the club brought in massive world-class players to massively improve the quality of the squad as Chelsea looks to rebuild under Frank Lampard. According to reports, Chelsea have been monitoring the contract situation of Paulo Dybala at Juventus as the Argentine attacker has failed to agree a new contract with the Italian giants and could be leaving the club in the summer of next year.
Reports have confirmed that Roman Abramovich will not sanction a deal to complete the signing of Paulo Dybala as Chelsea have spent heavily to acquire the like of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech who play similar positions to Paulo Dybala.
According to the reports, Chelsea will no longer pursue their interest in Paulo Dybala in the next transfer window as Abramovich will not release funds for the transfer as Chelsea have spent over £200million already.
According to numerous news outlets in Italy, Chelsea were initially interested in signing Paulo Dybala as the Argentine attacker could be leaving Juventus next summer after failing to feature regularly under Maurizzio Sarri and also, he has barely featured since Andrea Pirlo took over as Juventus manager.
The Argentine attacker is regarded as one of the best players in Europe and his addition to any side will bring in massive quality offensively and this had initially caught the eye of Frank Lampard.
Chelsea spent a massive £72million on signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and the young German is capable of playing as a false nine and also as a number 10 which is Dybala’s favorite position. Also, the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax means Chelsea are adequately covered in the wings and this means there won’t be any space for Dybala in Chelsea’s team and his signing will be a huge waste of funds.
Chelsea have made a bright start to their campaign this season and Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side have been a massive attacking threat to the teams they have faced this season. Also, Chelsea have become a more solid side defensively as the likes of Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy have brought in massive defensive quality and stability for Frank Lampard this season.
However, Dybala could still leave Juventus in the summer and the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United have lodged interest in the star attacker. He most definitely won’t be coming to Chelsea.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Chelsea should go for Paulo Dybala?
