The health system in Nigeria is the worst in many developing nations even in the face of the country's apparent wealth. The average life expectancy of Nigerians is around 44 years. That's too tragic. This owes largely to the very worst health system in the country.

It starts from the poor or absolute lack of proper health management system to incompetent hands in the sector. Imagine a country where all health workers can afford to go on strike for months. Guess what happens within the period.

A woman few months ago bled to death after giving birth only because doctors were on strike. Another bled to death because there were no enough doctors and bed space in a state hospital. Are those not unheard of?

Many accident victims die because of incompetent hands to take action. Many Nigerians die of preventable or curable illnesses just because of unavailability of necessary diagnosis or treatment equipments.

In short, the nation needs a way forward as far as health sector is concerned. The sector is a mess. Only the rich have access to good health system and most at times, they travel overseas for checkup and treatment. What about the tax-paying average class?

What is the way forward? What is your take on this?

It's obvious brother that the past administrations never placed high importance to citizens health. As far as they could afford overseas health services. That's a show of lack of conscience.
