Is there anything I would gain from not eating sugar for one year?

What will happen if I stop eating added sugar for a year?

I'm overweight and I consume lots of added sugar.

A co-worker of mine cut sugar, white flour, and chocolate as a possible remedy for severe anxiety. She dropped weight like crazy over a year (which helped her mentally as well - she was overweight when she started) and actually got to the point where she was able to enter some amateur fitness competitions!

(Hardcore fitness/bodybuilding competitions require severe temporary diets that need to be supervised by an experienced nutritionist and a doctor, so I don’t recommend that to anyone unless you really want to do it.)

Remember there’s a lot of carb and sugar in many packaged foods you don’t realize, so learn how to read labels if you do this.
