Are you addicted to social media?
Are you addicted to social media?
Social media addiction is a very big problem in this digital age. It has many bad effects. The good news is that there are equally solutions to this. Social media networks have helped facilitate a more efficient way for people to stay connected regardless of the physical distance. It has proved to be useful for personal and family lives and have also proved enormously useful in business today. However, addiction to anything should be taken seriously, as the term “addict” immediately refers to a stimulant in changes in the way a person behaves towards something. With these in mind, what are the common effects of social media addiction?

1. Lack of focus (Distraction) on work and/or studies.

2. Detached real social life: Addicts tend to lack real life interpersonal life because of excess time spent online.

3. Bad Psychological effects (This is a wide topic)

4. And many more...

How can these be curbed? Once it is established that addiction has set in, take the following actions to help instantly:

1. Deactivate (at least temporarily) Addictive Social Media Accounts: If you don’t want to permanently delete your social media account simply deactivate it. Most accounts can be deactivated. Just scroll to the settings and deactivate it for several days. You can focus on yourself but still remain connected with the social media. After you take a break then you can activate it. This helps you to gain some sort of control.

2. Stop Thise Automatic Notifications: If you don’t want to deactivate your account you can simply turn off the notifications. This will help you reduce the urge to check your phone every time you hear a beep. Notifications can be very distracting. It is very common for people to pause their conversations and activities just to check their notifications.

3. Try To Establish Meaningful Boundaries: Train yourself to be disciplined by establishing boundaries. Only check your social media accounts at certain periods. Also, give yourself a time limit. For example, only spend one hour or less on social media.

4. Get a real life hobby to keep you busy: Find a hobby and entertain yourself. This will help you to reduce the amount of time you dedicate to social media.Think about things you enjoy doing and start doing them. Give social media a break.

5. Spend more time with real life family and friends: Forget social media when you hang out with your family and friends. Surround yourself with people who make you forget that you even have a cell phone. You will be happier in the presence of wonderful people than sitting on the bed with your phone scrolling through Instagram and Snapchat.

Balance is necessary in everything in life. Find a balance: Take advantage of these networks to enjoy life, stay connected with family and friends and promote your business. But addiction is a bad thing. With these tips, you are covered. :good:
