It's a good thing to note that blackberry is waking up to join the evolving technology world, haven't release their first Android device and now Blackberry Aurora with dual SIM support , apart from this feature it also comes with a quad core Qualcomm processor, 13MP rear shooter, 4GB RAM and 4G LTE network for super fast downloading speed.


Design and Display

Blackberry Aurora is a smartphone with unique design, it curvy edges give room for a good hand grip of the device.
It is slim with a body dimension of 152 x 76.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs 178grams.

The BB Aurora sport a 5.5-inches IPS LCD capacitive HD display with a screen resolution measured at 1280*720p and screen sharpness at 267PPI density. It supports multi-touch functions.


Camera and software

Blackberry is known for producing smartphones with good camera qualities, the Aurora is not exempted as it crams a 13-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and auto focus to help users capture interesting moments, it features includes Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and also capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps.

The front camera is complimented with a 8-megapixel shooter for selfie and video calling.

Performance and storage

Blackberry Aurora is equipped with a quad core Cortex-A53 Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, with speed clock at 1.4Ghz, the CPU is supported by an ample 4G RAM for smooth multitasking, the graphics is handled by Adreno 308 GPU.

The smartphone comes with a 32GB on board storage capacity, extendable up to 256GB via micro SD card.

Other interesting features

The dual SIM device is preloaded with Blackberry hub, which include the DTEKTM security features that protect the phone OS and apps.

The security app can tell if the camera or any other function on the device is being secretly access by someone.
Connectivity options include 4G lte network for super fast downloading speed, Bluetooth 4.0,A-GPS, GPS,Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot and USB 2.0.

Unfortunately, the device does not come with a finger print sensor, this shouldn't be a con since the device comes with a DTEKTM security feature.

The Aurora house a 3000mAh Li-ion battery capacity with fast charge technology.

Price and availability

Blackberry Aurora is not yet available in Nigeria, it's is only available in the Indonesia market and cost $262 to get.
When it's available in Nigeria, you will get online via jumia, konga, slot or yudala.

Base on the cost and and dollar exchange rate in Nigeria, the price will range between #85,000-#100,000 depending on your location.
