Opinion: 4 Things Ebubeagu And ESN Should Do To End Attacks From ‘Unknown Gunmen’ In The South-East.

In recent times, there have been a lot of attacks from 'unknown gunmen' in the South-East under the watch of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), and the Ebubeagu vigilante team.

We all know that the South-East is one region of Nigeria which is highly attacked by the Fulani herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers, and ‘unknown gunmen’. For this reason, Ebubeagu security network was formed by the Imo State Governor, David Umahi, alongside with other Southeastern governors.

These politicians formed the Ebubeagu security network with the major aim of combating, controlling, and tacking insecurity in the Southeast region of Nigeria. Although, the Eastern Security Network (ESN) was formed by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. He formed this team to protect the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) due to the rise of insecurity in the South-East.

The fact remains that these security teams were established with the main aim of protecting the Igbos in the South-East. So, they should team up and accept their fate as protectors of the Igbo land.

These Igbo security networks should work together to help tackle insecurity in the Southeast instead of rejecting each other due to different reasons.

The four things Ebubeagu and the ESN should do to end attacks from ‘unknown gunmen' in the South-East are listed below.

1) A high sense of communication and intelligence should be carried out by these teams to end insecurity in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.

2) The ESN and Ebubeagu should work together without discrimination to achieve a goal of protecting the Igbos in the South-East.

3) The ESN and Ebubeagu should always commune with locals in the South-East and form a mutual relationship with them, so as to gain more information about suspected terrorist activities in the South-East.

4) Ebubeagu and ESN should seek information and advise from official Nigerian security agencies like the Nigerian Police Force to help tackle cases of attacks from ‘unknown gunmen’ in the South-East.

In my opinion, if these ways a properly followed by the ESN and Ebubeagu security team, there will be a low case of insecurity in the South-East.
