The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) running mate for the 2019 governorship election in Imo State, Mr. Gerald Irona, has said that an Emeka Ihedioha-led government in Imo state will make justice and rule of law the cornerstone of the administration.

Irona, who lamented the plethora of court judgements against the Rochas Okorocha government, said that a PDP administration in Imo will abide by all judgements entered into by courts of competent jurisdiction.

He promised that the government will implement any minimum wage reached in an agreement between the federal government and organised labour.

Speaking with newsmen in Oguta yesterday, Irona said as a first step, the government will appoint a sound and knowledgeable legal practitioner as the attorney general and commissioner for justice who will give unbiased advice to the government and not one who would be conscious of retaining his job at all cost.

While bemoaning the practice of demolishing the property of the citizens without adequate compensation, Irona said that a PDP government in Imo state will be all-inclusive one that would consult relevant stakeholders before taking any crucial decision that would affect the lives and property of the people.

“We are aware of the plethora of challenges facing the people of the state and we are not afraid to confront them. We going to be an open and transparent government and will make the books open to Ndimo.

“We will present a comprehensive financial situation and abide by all legal contracts and obligations entered into between the government and citizens of the state,” he said.
