It was indeed an interactive moment of learning and recalibration today as a human resource expert, Mr Emmanuel Ojoh Williams enlightened the 2019 Batch B Stream One Corps Members posted to Delta State on certain things they ought to know concerning job application.

The lecture which was delivered with practical demonstrations took place at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku in Aniocha North L.G.A of the state, and proved to be one of the best held in this recent time in the camp, as the Corps Members were seen participating actively and keenly nodding to every tone of the session.

Mr. Williams who defined a CV as every necessary thing about a person in a black and white, said that there are six types of CV, which are Chronological CV, Functional CV, Email CV, Multimedia CV etc, maintaining that there is no particular good or bad way of preparing a CV, but rather, there are preferred ways of doing so.

While dissecting the various sections of information found in CV, which include Personal Details, Career Objectives, Education, Work Experience, Skills, Interest and References; he advised the Corps Members to always make their application and CV catchy and captivating, even as he cautioned them to refrain from using bad and suspicious names in opening email address used for job application, or doing any other thing that is capable minimizing their chances or getting their application struck out on arrival.

On interview, Mr. Williams highlighted with demonstrations, the various methods being used by different organizations for recruitment, which include the traditional method and behavioural method; enumerated the different types of interviewer to include the interrogation expert and the nosy interviewer, among others; and also educated the Corps Members on how to answer the various kinds of technical questions that may emanate from any of these.

In addition to these, the lecture also featured teachings and practical demonstration on how to open and close door, how to sit, how to greet, how to eat, how to dress, how to walk, and how to comport oneself before, during or after interview.
