1. SPAM
Many posters on web portals like this are simply here to build links and drive traffic without any attempt to add value to Bestnaija readers. This is no longer going to be tolerated or taken lightly.

Offense Nature: Short, incomplete or meaningless posts but including links to the external sites.

Once noticed, such poster will be banned immediately and all his posts so far purged.

Better approach: instead of incomplete posts or articles, posters are encouraged to add full content and give credit at the end of the posts.

2. PLAGIARISM
Bestnaija's stand on plagiarism still remains same. It's a no no.

Nature of offense: offenders copy (steal) content from other sites and post verbatim on our site with reckless abandon. This is a sin!

Better approach: Proper referencing!
Before posting a copied content, do the following:
1. Modify the title into your own words
2. Introduce the article with 1 or 2 sentences in your own words.
3. Now paste the copied content.
4. Give proper credit to it's source at the end of the posted content.

Original Content = The Best!
Or better still, post your content in your own words.

3. LITTERING
Littering is offensive attitude of posting the wrong thing in the wrong section. Once this is found to be deliberate, the poster will get banned and all his posts so far purged.

Posters are advised to post in the right section most relevant to the topic. However, when unsure please post in the general section.

4. FAKE NEWS
Bestnaija is against all fake news in all its forms

Nature of offence: Fake news refers to false reports or misinformation or unverified information shared in the form of articles, images, etc

How to avoid: Only publish information you are sure is correct and verified in Bestnaija. Stop all the FORWARDED AS RECEIVED stuffs. This is even in your best interest. Verify sources as existing and reliable. Subject posts to the 7-way tests on Bestnaija: is it correct, reliable, harmless, verifiable etc

With these, we can keep Bestnaija clean and neat.
